We who live in Jefferson, Iowa, need to do something to commemorate being the place where Kristi Kinne developed, or maybe perfected, the “Kristi Crossover.” Every time I see some player in a high-level women's game today use that move, it makes me smile.
You're a welcome voice in sports news. I hope you also cover non-revenue sports like swimming as well. I used to enjoy the ISU men's and women's swim team competitions. I even scored them for a time. Like many Iowa girls I started in basketball, but was never any good at it. I still follow ISU women though and am so enjoying the young team now in charge.
And maybe you'd consider the mostly unknown senior athletes who compete in many sports like Master's Swimming, and all the sports included in the annual Iowa Senior Games. You'll probably find a lot of good stories there. I look forward to your future stories.
It is my plan to find stories in the wide swath of sports, and will eventually add a tagline that asks people to give me story tips at crossover.iowa@gmail.com

I’m on Team Burns now.
