What a story! I can feel your love for your Mom in each word. I feel the same about mine, who passed three years ago. Your health struggle reminds me of what I learned while getting my knee revision surgery. As bad as you think you have it, someone always has it worse. You definitely had it worse. I'm glad that you came through, and happy that you had your mother there to go through it with you.

That made me cry again the second time I read it.

Sweet memories. I vividly remember my mother-daughter age connection. I was sitting with Mom a few days before her death, holding her hand while she slept. Then it hit me that I was exactly the same age as she was when she gave birth to me. I cried, knowing the shared years were ending. I was more fortunate than many of my siblings because, as the last of nine, I had three years with Mom and Dad as an only child before I graduated HS and left for college.

How lovely that your mom had the capacity and interest to be there for you. ❤️ Not everyone has that experience.
